On 18th June 2018, two participants who took part in Act In Time started their internships in Modena, Italy.
These are the first two internships activated by IFOA within the Act In Time project, which aims at fostering the access and promote the integration of third-country nationals and migrants into the labor market. The project foresees a transversal training followed by selection interviews and then training in companies to bridge the gap between the skills of the trainees and requirements of the companies.
Abigail and Karica will carry out internships of 480 hours, about 30 hours per week, which will end on November 17. Assisted by a tutor, they will have the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary for the tasks of restaurant operator, the ability to identify and monitor the characteristics and quality of raw materials and semi-finished foods to the techniques of preparation of all dishes from appetizers to desserts, from maintaining order and hygiene of the kitchen and equipment, to the preparation and reorganization techniques of a restaurant and will learn to relate adequately with their customers during their service.
